Restaurants can sell beer and wine to go

Seeking to encourage residents to patronize dining establishments through the COVID19 crisis, Cherokee County and the city of Canton announced temporary permission for restaurants to sell beer and wine to go with food orders.

Cherokee County Chief Marshal Ron Hunton announced a temporary suspension, through April 30, of county ordinances so that license holders of “consumption on the premises” alcohol licenses can sell unopened bottles of beer and uncorked wine with carry out food. Information: bit.ly/2UxWv6a

Canton Mayor Bill Grant issued an executive order calling for a similar alcohol ordinance suspension through April 30, allowing restaurants to sell beer and wine with to-go orders. (Canton and Woodstock have jointly banned dining-in at restaurants within their city limits through April 12.)
