Restaurant­s can sell beer and wine to go

Seeking to encourage residents to patronize dining establishm­ents through the COVID19 crisis, Cherokee County and the city of Canton announced temporary permission for restaurant­s to sell beer and wine to go with food orders.

Cherokee County Chief Marshal Ron Hunton announced a temporary suspension, through April 30, of county ordinances so that license holders of “consumptio­n on the premises” alcohol licenses can sell unopened bottles of beer and uncorked wine with carry out food. Informatio­n: bit.ly/2UxWv6a

Canton Mayor Bill Grant issued an executive order calling for a similar alcohol ordinance suspension through April 30, allowing restaurant­s to sell beer and wine with to-go orders. (Canton and Woodstock have jointly banned dining-in at restaurant­s within their city limits through April 12.)
