Mattie Lois (Smith) Porter, born May 4th, 1922, to the late

Jimmy and Mattie Bell Smith, in Jasper County, GA. She was united in holy matrimony to the late David Porter in 1942 and to this union they were blessed with three daughters Evelyn Blake-Cody, Shirley Ann Johnson, Betty Williams and one son Gary (Jeraldine) Porter. She joined Shady Grove Baptist Church and later moved to Atlanta, GA and joined Beulah Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E.D. Thomas, Pastor. She later joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.S. Surrey, and later with Rev. Demetrius Griffin, Pastor. She served on the Nurses Guild and Mothers Board. She attended Morehouse School of Medicine in Nursing and retired as a private duty nurse. She enjoyed arts and crafts and checkers.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children, 2 grandchild­ren, Chantel McKeever Landers and Anthony Lamar McKeever, preceded her in death, 5 granddchil­dren Willie Terrell Blake, Delone Shiree Johnson, Calvin Demetrius Johnson, Eric (Katie) Porter and Marcus (Denesa) Porter, grandson-in-law Leon Landers, 2 devoted step-grandchild­ren Vernon Nicholas (Marjorie) Cody and Maria Cody and a host of great-grandchild­ren and great-great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
