1 SPORTS MEDIA: NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” finished as prime time’s most-viewed series for the ninth consecutiv­e year when the 2019-20 television season wrapped up on Wednesday night. According to Nielsen, “Sunday Night Football” averaged 20.5 million viewers in 2019, which was a 5% increase over 2018. It also marked NBC’s best season since 2015. SNF had eight of the 20 most-watched programs in the calendar year 2019.

2 PRO BASKETBALL: Warriors center Kevon Looney underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a core muscle injury and is expected to be ready for the start of next season, the team announced. Looney, 24, missed 45 games this season with various injuries, including a hamstring strain, a neuropathi­c condition and, most recently, an abdominal strain that led to the surgery.

3 PRO BASEBALL: Pirates infielder Kevin Kramer will miss four to six months while recovering from surgery on his right hip, the team announced. The 26-year-old Kramer had been dealing with what the club called “chronic symptoms” while attempting to stay ready for the potential start to the season.

4 HORSE RACING: The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., has canceled its induction ceremony in August because of health and safety concerns related to the pandemic. This year’s class includes trainer Mark Casse, jockey Darrel McHargue, and horses Wise Dan and Tom Bowling.

5 PRO SOCCER: Athletic Bilbao striker Aritz Aduriz announced his retirement a day after finding out he needs a hip replacemen­t that will keep him from continuing to play. The 39-year-old said on Twitter doctors told him to see a surgeon “sooner rather than later” to get a prosthetic hip replacemen­t.
