Peachtree Parkway closing for bridge install

The Georgia Department of Transporta­tion will close Ga. 141/ Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree Corners for the constructi­on of a pedestrian bridge between the Forum Shopping Center and the Peachtree Corners Town Center. The closure and detour will occur in two phases:

Phase One begins at 9 p.m. Friday, June 5, and will end at 5 a.m. Monday, June 8.

Phase Two begins at 9 a.m. Friday, June 12, and will end at 5 a.m. Monday, June 15.

The road closures will begin on Peachtree Parkway from E. Jones Bridge Road/Medlock Bridge Road to Peachtree Corners Circle. The 0.74-mile detour will redirect motorists onto Peachtree Corners

Circle and Medlock Bridge Road.

Exact dates may change due to weather or other factors. Drivers are reminded to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, be patient, and watch out for constructi­on workers. which are provided by a limited number of vendors. The company has provided similar services to the Atlanta Police Department and DeKalb Aerial Support.

This contract represents a 3.5% decrease over the previous one.

According to county documents, the accountabi­lity courts have proven to be an effective method of treating young offenders. The youth offenders selected for the program “will be held accountabl­e for their behavior and receive intensive treatment, supervisio­n and rehabilita­tion services, along with continuous judicial oversight during this 9to 18-month program.”
