The Peachtree Corners City Council recently approved a resolution to allow for outdoor dining in order to accommodate social distancing requirements. The city will allow businesses to alter their existing indoor and outdoor seating areas by obtaining a “Temporary Outdoor Restaurant Operations Permit” that will be valid through Dec. 31.

Among the guidelines associated with the permit, new outdoor operations cannot exceed the occupancy previously authorized by the Fire Marshall for the interior space. No temporary outdoor operations can be placed on a sidewalk unless an accessible path of at least 3 feet wide is available to the general public.

New outdoor operations cannot interfere with normal vehicle traffic movement, including fire department access and access to fire hydrants and other firefighting equipment. Food preparation must be done inside the restaurant kitchen facilities and employees must maintain social distancing at all times.
