1 Teaching at Stanford: Former U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman, fired last month by President Donald Trump in what critics have said was a bid to install a political ally, will teach law at Stanford University this fall. Berman headed the powerful federal prosecutor­s’ office in Manhattan.

2 Cannon dropped: Nick Cannon’s “hateful speech” and anti-Semitic theories led ViacomCBS to cut ties with the TV host and producer, the media giant said. The company’s move was in response to remarks made by Cannon on a podcast in which he and Richard “Professor Griff ” Griffith, the former Public Enemy member, discussed racial bias. The podcast reportedly was made last year and aired two weeks ago.

3 New host named: Tyra Banks will be showing off her moves as solo host of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars.” The supermodel, actor and businesswo­man who co-created “America’s Next Top Model” will replace longtime host Tom Bergeron and take on the role of executive producer, ABC said late Tuesday.

4 Rose Bowl Parade canceled: The 2021 Rose Parade has been canceled because of the impact of the coronaviru­s pandemic on planning for the New Year’s Day tradition and the risk of spreading infections among its huge audience and participan­ts, organizers said Wednesday. The Pasadena, California, Tournament of Roses Associatio­n said the decision was put off until organizers were certain that safety restrictio­ns would prevent staging of the 132nd parade.

5 Congressma­n charged: Rep. Steve Watkins, R-Kan., was charged with three felonies related to voter fraud Tuesday, shortly before a televised debate in which he dismissed the accusation­s involving a municipal election as a political move.
