Recover patio furniture from home
Q: I would like to get my torn outdoor chairs recovered and need a place to take them. Do you know where I could go? Thank you. —Candy Casarella, email
A: Candy, I have two options for you, and the good news is that you won't need to haul your furniture anywhere. Hoyt Millner at Patio Sling King, patioslingking.com, 678637-9360, has been “slinging furniture” since 1998. Patio Sling King also repairs outdoor umbrellas, including cantilevered models. Millner will come to your home with more than 100 fabric samples. He'll measure your chairs, and when the fabric arrives, he'll install it on-site. The company is busier than previous years due to COVID-19, according to Millner. Scrapped vacation plans have some folks spending their vacation money dressing up their outdoor spaces. You also can check out Bennett Restrapping, 404606-3793, bennettrestrapping.com. Call owner Steven Bennett and describe your needs. He'll come to your home with samples, and you can arrange to have him do the work onsite, or he can take your chairs with him and then deliver them to you when the work is done. Depending on how many pieces you have, the turnaround time is approximately two to three weeks. Bennett Restrapping not only replaces fabric, but services also include rebuilding and restructuring all types of metal outdoor furniture. The company also refurbishes PVC pieces.
Q: I keep trying to find a beard conditioner for my husband that he’ll actually use. I hear good things about Bed Head Lion Tamer that you can use on hair and beard. Where can I find this without having to order it online? Thank you for your help. — L. Garza, email
A: TIGI Bed Head Lion Tamer Beard and Hair Balm comes as a multipurpose product offering light control. The balm won't leave a sticky residue, and it features a clean fragrance. You can find a 3.38-ounce tube for $16.95 at Ulta Beauty, 1801 Howell Mill Road, Atlanta, 404-355-1326.
You can stop looking Sandra Barker has been unsuccessful in her search for a spicy-sweet condiment called Thai Chili Dipping Sauce by Wild Thymes. For about 31 years, the company has turned out a variety of innovative, all-natural dressings, sauces, marinades and assorted condiments. I contacted the New York-based Wild Thymes Farm and found out that, unfortunately, the owners recently closed the business because “rising
costs and shrinking margins made it difficult to justify staying in business.” Those of us who have enjoyed Bengali Tomato Chutney, Moroccan Dipping Sauce and Tangerine Salad Refresher will miss this specialty food company.
