After 2 perfect scores, Gwinnett bakery fails check

After having no issues earlier this year, Sweet Love Bakery Café in Duluth failed its most recent health inspection with a score of 52/U on Oct. 27. Previously the restaurant had perfect scores on Aug. 21 and Feb. 25.

According to the report, the person in charge was not demonstrating active managerial control. On multiple occasions throughout inspection, employees touched their facemasks and then touched food containers, clean equipment and single-use articles without washing hands.

The inspector highlighted several things that needed to be done by the next visit:

■ Store all employee personal items so that they cannot contaminate food, clean equipment or single-use articles.

■ Ensure inspection report, permit and certified food service manager certifificate are displayed in the front of the facility in public view.

■ Two containers of strawberries (purchased the day before) and one container of almond cream were discarded form old like accumulation.

■ Time control procedures provided to facility for use on pastries stored at room temperature at the front of the facility. All foods containing cold-store ingredients (cream icing, red bean filling, egg tart, sausage, cooked vegetables) must be held on four-hour time control if kept at the front room-temperature food display.

■ Ensure lighters and butane cans are stored below prep surfaces and food.

Most restaurants with failed scores are reinspected within 10 days.
