1 PRO GOLF: Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre produced a strong finish to claim his first European Tour title in the Cyprus Showdown. MacIntyre birdied four of his last six holes at Aphrodite Hills Resort to carda 7- under64and finish a shot ahead of Japan’s Masahiro Kawamura. In afirst- of- its- kind format on the EuropeanTour, the field was cut to 32 and then 19players after rounds two and three, with the scores reset topar for the final two days.
2 PROSOCCER: The pandemic is further disrupting international soccer, with at least adozen players fromthe Italian league blocked from joining their national teams. Roma and Fiorentina said their clubs remain in controlled isolation after positive coronavirus tests. Genoa, Inter Milan, Lazio and Sassuolo are also having to isolate. An order to prevent players on quarantined teams joining their national squads for the two- week international window was imposed by local health authorities in Italy, and preparations for fixtures, including in the UEFA Nations League, are also being hampered by new travel restrictions being imposed in response to concerns about the mutated variation of the corona virus among minks in northern Denmark.
3 PROSOCCER: Ollie Watkins scored twice in three minutes as Aston Villa stunned Arsenal 3- 0 Sunday, leaving the London club with four losses in eight Premier League games. Arsenal dropped to 11th place. Southampton on Friday climbed to first place in English soccer for the first time in 32 years but Sunday afternoon, Totten ham dis lodged Southampton with a 1- 0win at West Bromwich Albion. Leicester later rose into first place with a 1- 0victoryoverWolverhampton.
4 MOTORSPORTS: Joan Mirwon the Grand Prix of Europe in Cheste, Spain, for his first Moto GP victory, extending his points lead with two races to go in the championship.
