COLLEGE FOOTBALL:

Pac12 Commission­er Larry Scott is stepping down at the end of June, ending an 11-year tenure in which the conference landed a transforma­tional billion-dollar television deal but struggled to keep up with some of its Power Five peers when it came to revenue and exposure.

PRO SOCCER:

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has tested positive for the coronaviru­s, saying Thursday he has experience­d some symptoms. The Argentine had already been self-isolating after being identified as a close contact of someone infected. Aguero, City’s record scorer, has started only three matches this season. He missed the end of last season and the start of the current campaign after undergoing knee surgery in June.

BASEBALL: Mike Sadek, a popular backup catcher who played all eight of his major league seasons with the Giants, has died. He was 74. The team announced Sadek died Wednesday in San Andreas, California, following a short illness. Sadek was a .226 career hitter with five home runs and 74 RBIS in 383 games from 1973-81.

BASEBALL:

The Twins and veteran starting pitcher J.A. Happ agreed to an $8 million, one-year contract, according to a person with knowledge of the deal. The 38-year-old Happ spent the past 2⅓ seasons with the Yankees. Acquired from Toronto at the 2018 trade deadline, the left-hander went 7-0 with a 2.69 ERA in 11 starts down the stretch to finish 17-6. The Yankees then rewarded him with a $34 million, two-year contract.

BASEBALL:

Catcher Jason Castro has agreed to a $7 million, twoyear contract with the Houston Astros, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. This will be Castro’s second stint with the team after he was selected in the first round of the 2008 amateur draft.
