PRO FOOTBALL: The Jets 1 released defensive end Henry Anderson, an expected offseason move that will save the team $8.2 million on the salary cap. The move will give the Jets around $75 million in cap space. New York is expected to be among the teams with the most cap space this offseason and could make additional cuts before free agency begins March 17.

BASEBALL: Veteran left-hander 2 Gio González, 35, has agreed to terms on a minor league contract with the Marlins and will take part in major league camp. González, a South Florida native, pitched in 12 games last year for the White Sox with four starts and had an ERA of 4.83. He has a career record of 131-101 with a 3.70 ERA in 13 seasons for four teams.

PRO SOCCER: Paris Saintgerma­in 3 striker Moise Kean has tested positive for the coronaviru­s and has gone into isolation, the club said Wednesday. PSG said that Kean tested positive on Wednesday morning and stayed in Paris while his teammates traveled to Bordeaux for a league game. Kean, 21, has done well since joining on a season-long loan from Premier League team Everton, scoring 15 goals in 27 games.

PRO HOCKEY: The list of 4 players in the NHL’S COVID-19 protocol dropped to a season-low three, despite the additions of Pittsburgh captain Sidney Crosby and Nashville’s Ryan Johansen. San Jose’s Tomas Hertl is the only other player on the list after entering his seventh day in the protocol.

LEGAL: Former NFL player Kellen 5 Winslow II was sentenced to 14 years in prison Wednesday for multiple rapes and other sexual offenses against five women in Southern California. The sentence was the maximum allowed under a plea deal agreed to last month.
