What’s not working around metro Atlanta

-

Item: Griffin (Spalding)

Tommy Barrett has an issue in Griffin.

“When traveling on Ga. 16 east of town, the traffic signals at Rehoboth, McDonough and High Falls roads give preference to these low-volume two-lane streets. While traveling on Ga. 16, you will see a single car approaching on either Rehoboth, McDonough or High Falls roads, and the traffic signal on Ga. 16 will change from green to yellow before the car approaching the intersection even stops,” Barrett wrote.

He said Ga. 16 is the main east/west artery through Grif- fin and connects Interstate 85 in Newnan with Inter- state 75 east of Griffin. He added that he just wants to see a smooth flow of traffic on the road.

We sent the issue to the DOT and will let you know when it is fixed.

Update: Atlanta (Fulton)

In November, we received one of the most unusual requests that we have seen in more than a decade, trying to make sure government works for you.

“There has been a grocery basket where you merge onto I-75N from 14th Street. It is on the left side. (It’s) a hazardous situation. There are also big pieces of tires on the freeway,” wrote Lynn Barr.

We have not received an update, so we sent it back to the city.
