Q: I’m hoping you can help. My dad, who has passed, used to get all of his pictures developed on slides. I have approximately 17 carousels of 140 slides a piece — over 2,300 slides — that I would love to get placed on newer technology, perhaps a CD. A: Dawn, I have just the place for you to take your father’s slides to have them digitized so that you can enjoy those memories for many years. Nostalgic Media, 2250 N. Druid Hills Road, Atlanta, 404-844-3840, began as a video and film production company in 1989 with clients that ranged from Turner Broadcasting to Ford Motor Company. These days, the company specializes in archiving films, videotapes, slides, negatives and photographs. All of the work is done onsite by experienced technicians who have back- grounds in film processing, photography and broadcast television. Because you have more than 800 slides, Nostalgic Media will convert them into jpegs and save them on a flash drive. Fewer than 800 slides are saved on a disk.
