1 COLLEGE MEN’S BASKETBALL: Vanderbilt guard Scotty Pippen Jr. declared for the NBA draft without signing with an agent, to keep his options open. He ranked second in the SEC in scoring (20.8 points per game) and assists (4.8).

2 COLLEGE MEN’S BASKETBALL:

Minnesota guard Gabe Kalscheur announced he’s transferri­ng to Iowa State for his senior season, the first of several expected departures from the Gophers following a coaching change. In 88 games, all starts, Kalscheur averaged 10.4 points and shot 34.5% from 3-point range.

3 COLLEGE WOMEN’S

BASKETBALL: Oklahoma hired Jennie Baranczyk as its next coach, replacing Sherri Coale, who retired last month after 25 years leading the program. Baranczyk coached Drake the past nine seasons, with a 192-96 overall record.

4 COLLEGE HOCKEY: Wisconsin forward Cole Caufield, 20, won the Hobey Baker Award on Friday as the top college player, then scored twice in his pro debut — the Laval Rocket’s 5-3 American Hockey League win over the Toronto Marlies. The Montreal Canadiens prospect had 30 goals and 52 points in 31 games with the Badgers to lead all college players.

5 CURLING: The world championsh­ip playoffs were put on hold because of a positive COVID-19 test result inside the bubble set up for a series of events in Calgary, Alberta. Saturday’s match between the U.S. and Switzerlan­d was postponed. The winner was to play Sweden in the semifinals. The Canadian curling federation said the asymptomat­ic positive test did not involve a competitor on any of the playoff teams. Scotland had already beaten Canada in the other qualificat­ion match, earning a semifinal with Russia. All six playoff teams earned a spot for their countries in the 2022 Olympics.
