Buyer’s Edge Where can I find it?

- By Sabine Morrow

Q: I’m looking for Old Spice Spiffy High Shine hair pomade for men. They have many different types — hair clay, fiber wax, paste, and one just called hair pomade. I am looking for the one specifically called Spiffy. I can no longer find it anywhere. I will order online, or I can go to a store. — Karen Toholsky, email

A: Karen, I’ve got one of those good news-bad news answers for you. Procter & Gamble owns the personalcare company, and it discontinued Old Spice Spiffy High Shine Pomade this past January. The good news, however, is that eBay has a few in stock, and you can get a two-pack of 2.64-ounce jars for $14.99 through the seller Timonglider. Since a little goes a long way, so that might keep you in pomade until you find a suitable replacement.

Q: I have always enjoyed reading Buyer’s Edge and need your assistance locating women’s shoes in narrow or slim sizes. The shoe stores in our town no longer carry narrows or slims. I would like to find a place to actually try on casual shoes because I have spent a fortune on shipping and sending shoes back when ordering online. Surely, there must be some stores in the Atlanta area that carry these sizes. Thanks for your help. — Ann Hendrix, Newnan

A: Thank you for reading, Ann. Marmi Shoes, Lenox Square, 3393 Peachtree Road, 404-816-1992, stocks narrow (and wide) widths in nearly all of its women’s shoes and slim widths in some. Brands Marmi carries include Vaneli Sport and Sesto Meucci. Marmi Shoes also has a location in Avalon, 4165 Avalon Blvd., Alpharetta, 770-263-9516. You might also try Stuart Weitzman, Lenox Square, 404-846-0101, which carries some women’s shoes in narrow widths.

You can stop looking Readers, including Michelle Simmons, continue to search for original Roman Meal bread launched in 1927 by Tacoma baker William Matthaei. More recently, Flowers Foods in Thomasville, Georgia, baked Roman Meal. The company turns out various wellknown baked goods ranging from Dave’s Killer Bread and Nature’s Own to Tastykake snacks and Home Pride butter top bread. Unfortunately, Flowers Foods discontinued Roman Meal bread about three years ago due to declining sales.
