1 PRO HOCKEY: The defending Stanley Cup champion Lightning acquired defenseman David Savard, 30, from the Blue Jackets in a trade that also involved the Red Wings. Tampa Bay gave up a 2021 first-round pick and a 2022 third-rounder to Columbus for Savard and sent a 2021 fourthroun­der to Detroit. The Blue Jackets retained half of Savard’s $4.25 million salary-cap hit and the Red Wings got involved to pick up a quarter of it to help the cap-strapped Lightning. Savard, a pending free agent, was one of the most sought-after players ahead of the NHL trade deadline today.

2 COLLEGE HOCKEY: Filip Lindberg had 25 saves and Massachuse­tts beat St. Cloud State 5-0 Saturday in Pittsburgh to win the program’s first NCAA title. Umass (20-5-4) extended its unbeaten streak to 14 games. David Hrenak had 17 saves for St. Cloud State (20-110), which made the program’s first title game appearance.

WOMEN’S PRO SOCCER: 3

Trinity Rodman, 18, became the youngest U.S. player to score in the National Women’s Soccer League with a goal in her pro debut for the Washington Spirit, a 3-2 road loss to the North Carolina Courage. The daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman was the second NWSL draft pick this year.

4 PRO TENNIS: Lorenzo Sonego became the first Italian in 15 years to capture an ATP tour clay-court title on home soil, beating Laslo Djere of Serbia 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4 at the Sardegna Open in Cagliari. ... David Goffin beat Marin Cilic 6-4, 3-6, 6-0 to reach the second round of the clay-court Monte Carlo Masters in Monaco.

5 COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Eddie George, a former standout running back with the Tennessee Titans, reportedly has been named coach at Tennessee State. Ron Reed told players their game Sunday night vs. Southeast Missouri would be his last after 11 seasons. George, 47, was a four-time Pro Bowler.
