PRO SOCCER: The goal Sunday by Kelechi Iheanacho didn’t just send Leicester into a first FA Cup final since 1969 — it was the first to be cheered by spectators at London’s Wembley Stadium in more than a year. As coronavirus restrictions are eased, Wembley was allowed a 4,000-strong crowd to witness Leicester’s 1-0 win over Southampton. Leicester faces Chelsea in the May 15 final.

PRO BASEBALL: OF Jay Bruce could not stomach his poor start to the Yankees’ season, so the three-time All-star decided to retire at age 34 after Sunday’s game.“felt like I wasn’t able to do it at a level that was acceptable for myself,” he said. Bruce was hitting .118 in 39 plate appearances before Sunday.

PRO BASEBALL: Giants closer Jake Mcgee and RHP Logan Webb went on the injured list Sunday with lingering effects from the COVID-19 vaccine. The Giants said they’re hopeful both will be on the list for only a game or two.

PRO CYCLING: Wout van Aert beat Tom Pidcock in a photo finish at the Amstel Gold Race in Valkenburg, Netherlands, while Marianne Vos won the women’s edition. Van Aert joined Pidcock and Max Schachmann in a breakaway with about six miles left, and after the trio began jockeying for the lead with 300 meters to go, van Aert edged Picock at the finish line to give his Jumbo-visma team the win.

MOTORSPORTS: Fabio Quartararo won the Portuguese Grand Prix from pole position, with six-time Motogp champ Marc Márquez finishing seventh in an emotional return after nine months. Márquez broke an arm last summer and missed the rest of last season and the first two races this year.
