■ In person: From Balcony to Backyard—how to Create a Wildlife Sanctuary in Your Space. 1-4 p.m. Saturday. $40/Chattahoochee Nature Center member, $45/ person for ages 16 and older. Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Road, Roswell. Join Habitat Program Manager Gabe Andrle of Georgia Audubon to learn how you can attract more birds to your space while making a difference in the conservation of birds and other species. Topics will include planting for birds, habitat management, food/shelter for wildlife and methods for identifying wildlife in your backyard. The workshop will include classroom time to discuss why this matters, techniques, tips and certification programs. Following classroom time, the group will spend guided time in the gardens and trails around CNC’S 127 acres to seek inspiration for creating their own wildlife sanctuaries. ■ Renaming Contest for Community Assistance Center’s Thrift Shop. Deadline is April 30. Entries will be reviewed by a panel that will select the top five to be voted on. ■ Donations: CAC Legacy Fund. Gifts may be made in honor of Tamara Carrera, who recently retired after 23 years as CEO of the Community Assistance Center.
