Delta Air Lines has revamped its business class menu and is adding Antico Pizza and other local food brands on international flights from Atlanta.

Delta halted most of its in-flight catering early on in the health crisis and instead used its own flight attendants to prepare snack bags to hand out to passengers.

The airline has gradually added back more in-flight service and restructured catering contracts. Now, the Atlanta-based airline says it has started serving Margherita Tradizionale di Napoli from Antico Pizza in Delta One business class on flights to Europe and on

trans-pacific flights. The small pizzas are par-baked in Antico’s ovens and refrigerated, then reheated onboard, according to Delta.

The airline developed the menu with one of its new in-flight catering contractors, Mainline Aviation LLC, a subsidiary of Marietta-based

Goldbergs Group. The airline will serve Goldbergs’ everything bagels for breakfast in business class on international flights and bread “hydrated with Sweetwater’s 420 beer.” And Delta said it will use Georgia-grown pecans, peaches, apples, olives and mushrooms and Springer Mountain Farms chicken.

On flights in other parts of the country — including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle and New York — Delta is adding menu items for first class and business class passengers from restaurants or food suppliers in those cities.

Delta this year expanded its offerings of alcoholic drinks on flights. But American and Southwest have suspended alcohol service on flights until next year, as carriers attempt to reduce unruly passenger incidents that have increased with enforcement of a federal mask mandate.
