1 PRO FOOTBALL: Pro Football Hall of Fame President David Baker has announced his retirement. Baker, 68, had served in the role of president and executive director since January 2014. Baker’s legacy includes the introducti­on of “The Knock” as the way of informing eligible Hall of Fame candidates they’ve been elected. He’d rap on the doors of the hotel rooms where candidates were sequestere­d and then break the news when the doors opened.

2 PRO FOOTBALL: New York Giants rookie wide receiver Kadarius Toney was hit with a $12,875 fine for unsportsma­nlike conduct from the NFL for throwing a punch last Sunday against Dallas. Cowboys safety Damontae Kazee, the player Toney swung at, also got a $6,264 fine for unsportsma­nlike conduct for tossing and tackling Toney to the turf.

3 COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Dawn Staley agreed to a seven-year, $22.4 million contract extension to remain South Carolina women’s basketball coach. The deal makes Staley the second-highest paid coach in women’s basketball behind UConn’s Geno Auriemma. It puts her on par with Gamecocks men’s basketball coach Frank Martin. Staley could make $2.9 million this season. Martin is scheduled to earn $3.2 million.

4 GOLF: Alex Cejka and Miguel Angel Jiménez were tied at 9-under after the second round of the PGA Tour Champions’ SAS Championsh­ip on Saturday. Three golfers were one stroke behind them: Bernhard Langer, Scott Dunlap and firstround leader Scott Parel . ... Laurie Canter is eyeing his first European Tour win after taking a 3-shot lead of the Andalucía Masters heading into today’s final round.

5 TENNIS: Cameron Norrie defeated Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 6-4 Saturday in the semifinals of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, Calif. In today’s finals, he’ll face the winner of Saturday’s late semifinal between Taylor Fritz and Nikoloz Basilashvi­li.
