1 COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Wake Forest coach Dave Clawson said the NCAA needs to review its rules on whether quarterbac­ks should be allowed to“fake slide”after escaping the pocket. Clawson’s statement came after his team’s 45-21 loss to Pittsburgh in the Atlantic Coast Conference championsh­ip game Saturday night in which Panthers quarterbac­k Kenny Pickett used a fake slide to freeze defenders and run for a 58-yard TD.

2 PRO FOOTBALL: The Panthers fired offensive coordinato­r Joe Brady with five games left in the 2021 regular season, the team announced Sunday. Running backs coach Jeff Nixon will take over play-calling duties. Nixon, a senior offensive assistant, was offensive coordinato­r at Baylor during Matt Rhule’s tenure as head coach. The Panthers were on a bye week this week.

3 COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Uconn won its rivalry game against Notre Dame but may have lost last year’s national player of the year to a knee injury. Paige Bueckers scored 22 points before going down with just seconds left in No. 2 Uconn’s 73-54 win over No. 24 Notre Dame on Sunday. Bueckers, who is averaging a little more than 20 points per game, had to be carried off the court. The full extent of the injury will likely be known today.

4 WINTER SPORTS: Kaillie Humphries is 2 for 2 as an American. Humphries completed a perfect weekend Sunday, teaming with Kaysha Love to win a World Cup women’s bobsled race. It was the 28th World Cup win of Humphries’ career, coming three days after she was sworn in as a U.S. citizen and one day after she won a monobob race on the same Altenberg, Germany, track.

5 WINTER SPORTS: Julia Taubitz of Germany won a pair of women’s World Cup luge races Sunday, while Summer Britcher gave USA Luge its best individual finish in nearly two years by grabbing a silver medal.
