1 Peloton founder leaving: The co-founder of Peloton is stepping down as chief executive after a streak of tumult at the exercise bike and treadmill company. John Foley will give up the CEO position and become executive chair. The company is also cutting almost 3,000 jobs. Barry Mccarthy, who served as CFO at Spotify and Netflix, will take over as CEO.

2 VP’S husband evacuated from school: Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, was evacuated from a public school about a mile from the White House on Tuesday afternoon after a bomb threat, officials said. Emhoff was participat­ing in an event at Dunbar High School marking Black History Month. Students were sent home as police dogs checked the building. No one was harmed.

3 Mexican boats banned: Mexico defended its fishermen as the U.S. government banned Mexican fishing vessels from U.S. ports on the Gulf of Mexico because of poaching. Mexico says the incursions were accidental, but the U.S. government says Mexico has not done enough to prevent boats from illegally fishing in U.S. waters.

4 Shooting suspect sought: Authoritie­s are searching for a man who opened fire Monday at a store in Washington state, killing a person and injuring another. The suspect in the shooting at a Fred Meyer store in Richland is Aaron Christophe­r Kelley, 39, police said, adding that the suspect fled after the shooting. The suspect has had contact with law enforcemen­t in the past, police said.

5 Britain to require verificati­on for porn viewers: Britain’s government said all pornograph­y websites will soon be legally required to verify that users are 18 or older. Under the government’s draft online safety bill, porn sites will be legally required to put “robust checks” in place to protect children from accessing them.
