“Butter”

C+An overweight high school boy creates a fake online persona to talk to his crush while also setting up a website to document his New Year’s Eve suicide. The film is sweet and likable even though it doesn’t have a fairy tale ending. Starring Alex Kersting, Mira Sorvino and Mykelti Williamson. Directed by Paul A. Kaufman. “Cyrano”

BThe leading man thinks he is unworthy of love because of his appearance and uses his words to woo the woman he pines for through a more handsome suitor. The energetic and imaginativ­e filmmaking is a delight to behold, but the second half is lacking some connective tissue.
