Netflix renews ‘Love Is Blind’ to Season 5

Netflix guilty pleasure “Love Is Blind” has been renewed through its fifth season — with Season 3 set to premiere later this year, the streamer confirmed Thursday in a news release.

The show last month premiered its long-awaited second season, with the tension-filled reunion dropping earlier this month. The platform on Thursday announced the Season 2 cast will return later this year for a new installment of “Love Is Blind: After the Altar,” a more in-depth look at the couples after they exchanged vows or split up.

The series, which according to the release spent five straight weeks atop the streamer’s global top 10 list for English-language shows, sees several couples fall in love — though to what extent is debatable — through a wall and get engaged sight unseen.

They then embark on an expedited period of wedding prep, including meeting the families and living together, before they head to the aisle.

Both seasons of the show, hosted by Nick and Vanessa Lachey, thus far have featured surprise “I do’s” and “I don’ts.”

Netflix on Thursday noted that due to the exponential popularity of the service’s amorous unscripted programs, the streamer will now offer new reality romance shows year-round. The music video even incorporating the slogan, “Love has no offseason” — which former 98 Degrees member Nick Lachey quipped he’d “give ... a solid 97 degrees,” before asking if he could host another of the shows.

The Lacheys will also host “The Ultimatum,” which tests the limits of couples at different places in their relationships — one person wants to get married; the other has cold feet.
