Update: McDonough (Henry)
Last week we told you about crumbling pavement in Henry County.
Diane Dane said the issue was to the right of 6035 Montlake Ave., in the Lakehaven subdivision in McDonough.
“I consider it very dangerous and structurally unstable since the rebar is show- ing,” Dane wrote.
We sent the issue to the county and heard back this week
“This damaged catch basin is currently on the repair list. The county uses a con- tractor for completing this type of concrete work for the county, and the double wing catch basin top at 6035 Montlake is included within the contractor’s list of things to address,” wrote Henry County Public Information Director Melissa Robinson.
She said neither the coun- ty’s transportation department nor the stormwater department has in-house per- sonnel to do these repairs.
“One more added holdup is that the contractor is having difficulty obtaining a steady supply of concrete, as supply and demand has been an issue for a while now,” she added.
Robinson said the county should fix the issue within a month.

A reader let us know a hazardous metal plate had been fixed.
“The plate was damaged and it’s on a sidewalk where kids walk to school. It was removed very quickly, but it still hasn’t been replaced,” wrote a reader.
The reader said the plate is close to 2575 Gleneagles Drive right beside a school. She sent us a picture of the finished product.
