1 PRO SOCCER: All three U.S. first-round matches at this year’s World Cup will kick off at 2 p.m. EST, the latest in the day possible under the schedule in Qatar. The U.S. opens Nov. 21 against Wales, Scotland or Ukraine at Al Rayyan, then plays England on Nov. 25 at Al Khor. The Americans complete the group stage on Nov. 29 against Iran at Doha. All three matches start at 10 p.m. local.

HORSE RACING: The Kentucky 2

Court of Appeals on Friday rejected trainer Bob Baffert’s motion for emergency relief from a 90-day suspension. As a result of the order signed by Acting Chief Judge Allison Jones, the Hall of Fame trainer’s suspension is scheduled to begin on Monday. Baffert had already transferre­d four promising 3-year-old colts to other trainers so they can run in major prep races and potentiall­y qualify for the Kentucky Derby.

State star Stephen Curry will be sidelined for the remainder of the regular season because of a sprained ligament in his left foot. The reigning scoring champion, who was injured March 16 at home against Boston and has missed seven games since, is scheduled to be reevaluate­d after another week. Curry is making good progress, the Warriors said Friday.

PRO GOLF: Hinako Shibuno shot 4 a 6-under 66 in Friday’s second round for a 9-under 135 total at the Chevron Championsh­ip. She took a one-stroke lead into the weekend at Mission Hills CC in Rancho Mirage, Calif., which is hosting the major championsh­ip for the last time. Defending champion Patty Tavatanaki­t (69), Annie Park (67) and Jennifer Kupcho (70) were a stroke back.

Florida forward Anthony Duruji announced plans Friday to hire an agent and enter the NBA draft. Duruji averaged 8.6 points and 4.1 rebounds as a senior this season.
