Jennifer Grey in ‘Dirty Dancing’ sequel

She’ll have the time of her life — again.

Not only will Jennifer Grey return for the “Dirty Dancing” sequel, first announced by Lionsgate in 2020, but the film will take place where her character Baby and Johnny’s (Patrick Swayze) summer romance took center stage in the original film.

“Jennifer Grey returns to Kellerman’s in the next chapter,” a voiceover said Thursday at Lionsgate’s Cinemacon presentation as clips from the 1987 romantic classic played, Entertainment

Weekly reports.

It’s long been speculated that the return of Grey, 62, would mean the return of her character, Frances “Baby” Houseman, for whom a summer spent at Catskills resort Kellerman’s sees her shed her sheltered skin and fall in love with dance instructor Johnny.

Grey will also serve as executive producer of the upcoming film. It’s unclear if she’ll reprise her role as Baby.

Additional information about the sequel, which on IMDB lists only Grey in the cast — and without a character attached to it — has not yet been released.

Grey — the daughter of two actors, including Oscar, Grammy and Tony winner Joel Grey — has recently been reflecting on fame and pivotal moments of her life while promoting her memoir, “Out of the Corner.” The title is a nod to the most notable line from “Dirty Dancing,” in which Johnny says: “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.” Swayze died in 2009. This won’t be the first attempt at retooling “Dirty Dancing,” which has seen itself resurrected on stage; in a short-lived CBS series; a three-hour ABC musical remake; and the 2004 prequel, “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights.”
