1 2 PRO BASEBALL:
The Reds removed outfielders Tyler Naquin and Nick Senzel from the starting lineup for Wednesday’s game at Milwaukee and placed both on the injured list. They were added without injury designations, an indication that both are sidelined with Covid-19-related issues. First baseman Joey Votto was added to the IL for COVID-19 on Tuesday, although manager David Bell said Votto hadn’t tested positive at that point.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL:
Mississippi women’s basketball coach Yolett Mcphee-mccuin has agreed to a new contract running through 2026 after leading the Rebels to their first NCAA Tournament in 15 years. Mcpheemccuin led Ole Miss to its first NCAA Tournament since 2007 in her fourth season. The Rebels set a single-season school record with 142 blocked shots.
SOCCER: A World Cup legal
3 dispute flared Thursday with Chile challenging Ecuador’s place at the finals tournament over an alleged ineligible player. The Chilean soccer federation asked FIFA to investigate its claim that Ecuador player Byron Castillo is actually Colombian and not entitled to have played in qualifying games.

Maradona when he scored the controversial “Hand of God” goal against England in the 1986 World Cup has sold for 7.1 million pounds ($9.3 million), the highest price ever paid at auction for a piece of sports memorabilia. Maradona scored two goals during the quarterfinal game in Mexico City. Maradona’s first goal was ruled a header, but the ball had bounced off his fist, out of sight of the referee.
