1 HORSE RACING: Secret Oath had the best finish from the worst possible starting spot and reminded trainer D. Wayne Lukas what it’s like to win the Kentucky Oaks after a long drought. The filly charged from a five-wide pack to grab the lead from Yuugiri and held off favorite Nest by two lengths Friday at Louisville, Kentucky, giving the 86-year-old Lukas his fifth Oaks win and first since 1990. Secret Oath covered the 1⅛th mile on a good track in 1:49.44 and paid $10.80, $5.60 and $4.60. She took $767,250 for the win. Nest returned $4.20 and $3.20 to place, and Desert Dawn paid $15.40 to show.

2 PRO HOCKEY: Patrick Marleau, the all-time NHL leader in games played (1,779 regular-season games in 23 years), will make an announceme­nt Tuesday about his future, the San Jose Sharks said. Indication­s are Marleau, 42, will announce his retirement.

3 PRO HOCKEY: The rest of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ playoff run won’t include goaltender Casey DeSmith, who underwent core surgery Friday and will miss the rest of the postseason. DeSmith entered the playoffs as Pittsburgh’s top goaltender with All-Star Tristan Jarry sidelined with a lower-body injury. DeSmith’s injury leaves Louis Domingue as the starter.

4 PRO CYCLING: A storming time trial from Simon Yates saw the British rider win the second stage of the Giro d’Italia while Dutch rider Mathieu van der Poel kept hold of the pink jersey Saturday. Yates, one of the title favorites, clocked 11 minutes, 50 seconds on the 6-mile individual time trial through Budapest that included a steep uphill finish. Van der Poel finished three seconds back.

5 PRO GOLF: Denmark’s Thorbjorn

Olesen finished eagle-birdie to shoot 3-under 69 and take a three-stroke lead into the final round of the British Masters as he bids for a first win in four years.
