Buyer’s Edge Where Can I Find It?

- By Sabine Morrow For the AJC

Q: I used to have no trouble finding Pride of Szeged Hungarian sweet paprika. Lately, it’s been harder to find. Do you have a source? I’m near Red Mountain State Park. Thanks. — Lili K., email

A: Lili, Cost Plus World Market 840 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway, Kennesaw, 770-794-4777, keeps your favorite Pride of Szeged Hungarian sweet paprika in stock. You’ll find the red 4-ounce metal tins for $4.99 each.

Q: My mother-in-law is from South Africa, and she is trying to find Weetabix cereal. She used to be able to find it at some grocery stores but hasn’t had any luck lately. I am hoping you can help find it in the area. Thank you. —Dana Greenberg, Marietta

A: Dana, I have a couple of options for you regarding your mother-in-law’s breakfast needs. Check out South African Emporium (formerly Cape Food and Beverage), 2390 Satellite Blvd., NE, Buford, 678765-6038. The store stocks generous amounts of South African favorites ranging from Ouma chunky buttermilk rusks and Five Roses tea bags to Freddy Hirsch Grabouw-style Boerewors spice and Weetabix. South African Emporium carries Weetabix, 12 biscuits per box, for $6.39 each. You also will find Weetabix cereal at Taste of Britain, 73 S. Peachtree St., Norcross, 770-242-8585. A pack of 24 of the crunchy wheat biscuits costs $11.99.

You can stop looking

Reader Fran Russell recently found a can of forgotten Thicker Fuller Hair Volumizing hairspray by Schwarzkopf in her cabinet and fell in love. That’s too bad. Now, she can only find her favorite hairspray online for more than $100 per can. But, truthfully, even if it were made from baby unicorn tears, no hairspray is worth that much money for an 8-ounce can.

Unfortunately, a while back, Schwarzkopf discontinued the hairspray. According to a rep I spoke with, the company then unloaded the Thicker Fuller Hair name to High Ridge Brands, which recently revamped the line and created a four-product regimen that, unfortunately, doesn’t include hairspray.
