1 PRO FOOTBALL: The New York Giants have released veteran cornerback James Bradberry. A starter for the team the past two seasons, including making the Pro Bowl in 2020, Bradberry is a salary cap casualty. He would have been a $21.9 million cap hit, so cutting him Monday will save about $10 million.

2 PRO SOCCER: The trial of two former 21st Century Fox Inc. executives and a sports marketing company on charges related to the U.S. government investigat­ion of corruption in soccer was postponed to Jan. 3. Hernan Lopez and Carlos Martinez were charged in March 2020 as part of an alleged scheme related to rights to the Copa Libertador­es soccer tournament, South America’s club championsh­ip.

3 PRO SOCCER: Mark Delgado drilled a shot just inside the left post from 35 yards out in the sixth minute and Jonathan Bond made it stand up to lead the L.A. Galaxy to a 1-0 road victory over Austin on Sunday. The victory vaults the Galaxy (7-3-1) over Austin (6-3-2) and into second place in the Western Conference. ... Tosaint Ricketts scored in the 90th minute to give Vancouver a 1-0 home victory over Toronto.

4 COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Kentucky running back Chris Rodriguez Jr., 24, was arrested Sunday and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and driving without tail lamps, news outlets reported. The senior was the team’s leading rusher and finished with 1,238 yards and eight rushing touchdowns in 11 games last year.

5 COLLEGE WATER POLO: Makenzie Fischer scored four goals, Ryann Neushul added three and Stanford pulled away over the final three minutes to beat Southern California­10-7 Sunday in Ann Arbor, Mich., to win the Cardinal’s eighth NCAA women’s championsh­ip.
