PRO FOOTBALL: Former Chicago Bears LB Nick Kwiatkoski, who played with the Raiders the past two seasons, is set to sign with the Falcons, according to leagueowne­d NFL media. Kwiatkoski was drafted in 2016 by the Bears and started 22 of his 57 games for Chicago. He did not start in eight appearance­s last season.

PRO CYCLING: Arnaud Démare

2 beat Caleb Ewan in a photo finish on Thursday to win a second successive Giro d’italia stage. Juan Pedro López kept the leader’s jersey after the race’s sixth leg. It was a seventh Giro stage win for Démare, more than any other Frenchman. López maintained his 39-second advantage over Lennard Kämna. Rein Taaramäe was third, 58 seconds behind.

PRO BASKETBALL: Memphis

Grizzlies GM Zach Kleiman, 33, has been named the NBA basketball executive of the year, the youngest person ever to win the award. He got 16 of 29 first-place votes. Cleveland president Koby Altman and Chicago executive VP Arturas Karnisovas tied for second.

PRO HOCKEY: Maple Leafs

4 center Auston Matthews, Oilers center Connor Mcdavid and Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin are finalists for the NHL’S MVP award. Matthews was the NHL’S top goal-scorer, with career highs of 60 goals and 46 assists. Mcdavid was the NHL’S top scorer (career highs of 44 goals, 79 assists). Shesterkin had a 2.07 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage.

PRO SOCCER: Liverpool

5 midfielder Fabinho will miss the FA Cup final but could play in the Champions League final May 28, manager Jurgen Klopp said. Fabinho has a hamstring injury suffered in a Tuesday win at Aston Villa . ... Atlético Madrid secured a Champions League spot for a 10th straight season, beating Elche 2-0 in the Spanish league on Wednesday.
