1 PRO FOOTBALL: Kwon Alexander signed a one-year deal with the New York Jets on Friday. Alexander spent last season and part of 2020 with New Orleans after 1½ years in San Francisco. He was drafted in the fourth round out of LSU in 2015 by Tampa Bay, where he played his first four seasons. Alexander was selected for the Pro Bowl after his third season in 2017.

2 PRO FOOTBALL: Chicago

Bears center Lucas Patrick is out indefinite­ly because of a right hand injury, leaving a retooled offensive line without an important piece. The Bears signed him in March to a two-year deal to be their starting center. Patrick made 34 starts and played in 73 games with Green Bay after joining the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2016.

3 PRO HOCKEY: The Anaheim

Ducks signed John Klingberg to a one-year, $7 million contract on Friday, landing the top defenseman on the NHL free agent market. The Swede is leaving Dallas, where he had spent his entire NHL career while racking up 71 goals and 303 assists in eight seasons with the Stars. He had six goals and 41 assists last season, although he was a careerwors­t minus-28.

4 COLLEGE SPORTS: Under

Armour has agreed to pay UCLA $67.49 million to resolve a lawsuit filed two years ago for breach of contract. Under Armour announced in 2020 that it was ending its deal with UCLA, citing the pandemic and the Bruins’ struggles in its flagship sports. The two sides were four years into a 15-year deal worth $280 million, which was the highest in college athletics.

5 TENNIS: Fifth-seeded Caroline

Garcia beat Jasmine Paolini 6-1, 6-2 at the Poland Open on Saturday to advance to her 12th final, where she’ll face Ana Bogdan. Garcia won their only previous meeting, in 2017 at Wimbledon.
