1 MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Zach Edey scored a career-high 38 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, helping No. 1 Purdue beat visiting Michigan State 77-61 Sunday. The Big Ten-leading Boilermake­rs won their eighth straight.

2 WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Abbey Ellis’ season-high five 3-pointers helped Purdue earn its first top-five road victory in program history, beating No. 2 Ohio State 73-65. The Buckeyes (19-3, 8-3) lost their third consecutiv­e game. ... Aliyah Boston had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Bree Hall scored a career-high 18 to lead No. 1 South Carolina to a 65-52 road win over Alabama.

3 PRO BASEBALL: The Yankees agreed to a one-year contract with 2B Gleyber Torres, avoiding an arbitratio­n hearing. Torres hit .257 with 24 homers and 76 RBIS in 140 games for the AL East champs last year. Torres had asked for a raise from $6.25 million to $10.2 million in arbitratio­n, and the Yankees offered $9.7 million.

4 PRO FOOTBALL: The Dolphins reportedly got their top choice to fill the defensive coordinato­r role. Vic Fangio and the Dolphins are in agreement on a deal that makes him the NFL’S highest-paid defensive coordinato­r, according to NFL Network. The report said the contract is a three-year deal with a fourth-year team option. Fangio, 64, was head coach of the Broncos from 2019 to 2021 and is a defensive consultant for the Eagles this season.

5 MEN’S SKIING: Swiss skier Marco Odermatt overcame a tricky course setting in Cortina D’ampezzo, Italy, to win a men’s World Cup super-g for his second victory in two days, just over a week before the start of the world championsh­ips. Odermatt extended his lead in both the overall and super-g standings. Home favorite Dominik Paris was 0.76 seconds behind in second. Austrian Daniel Hemetsberg­er trailed by 1.03 in third.
