1 SOCCER: The United States men’s team will play a CONCACAF Nations League match against El Salvador at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on March 24. The 13thranked Americans report to the Orlando area March 19-20, then play at No. 173 Grenada on March 24 before the game against 74th-ranked El Salvador.
2 SOCCER: The European Court on Wednesday ruled against a Barcelona fan group in France that demanded the European Commission should investigate whether Paris Saint-germain unfairly signed Lionel Messi and jeopardized Barcelona’s finances. The court in Luxembourg decided that the European Commission does not have to accept the group as an interested party and is not obligated to open an investigation into its complaint of alleged unlawful state aid to PSG.
3 PRO BASEBALL: The St. Louis
Cardinals acquired left-hander Anthony Misiewicz from their cross-state rival Kansas City Royals for cash considerations Wednesday. The 28-year-old Misiewicz, who was expected to compete for a spot in the Royals bullpen, split last season between the Mariners and Kansas City. He went 1-2 with a 4.34 ERA with 27 strikeouts in 29 innings.
4 PRO BASKETBALL: The WNBA is investigating Dearica Hamby’s allegations the Las Vegas Aces bullied and manipulated her for being pregnant, the league said in a statement Wednesday. It was the first time the league acknowledged it was looking into the situation. Hamby made her allegations after being traded Jan. 21 to the Los Angeles Sparks.
5 PRO BASKETBALL: Jordin
Canada is staying with her hometown Los Angeles Sparks. The guard was re-signed to a training camp contract Wednesday. Last season, Canada started 25 of 32 games and averaged 9.2 points in her first year with the Sparks.
