1 PRO BASEBALL: RHP Michael Wacha and the Padres finalized a contract that guarantees $26 million over four seasons and could be worth $39 million over three years. Wacha, 31, was 11-2 with a 3.32 ERA in 23 starts for the Boston Red Sox last year. The Padres will be his fifth team.
PRO BASEBALL: The Phillies
2 signed Seranthony Domínguez to a two-year contract extension with a club option for 2025. Terms were not immediately available. The right-handed reliever,
28, made a career-high 54 appearances in 2022, with a 3.00 ERA, nine saves, a 1.137 WHIP and 61 strikeouts in 51 innings.

Zakai Zeigler and Santiago Vescovi each scored 15 points as No. 10 Tennessee took down No. 1 Alabama 68-59 Wednesday night. Playing its first game as the top-ranked team since the 200203 season, the Crimson Tide (22-4, 12-1 SEC) committed 19 turnovers. The Volunteers (20-6, 9-5) ended a two-game skid.

PRO FOOTBALL: Former Detroit Lions DB Stanley Wilson died this month, according to TMZ. He was 40 years old. Wilson collapsed at Metropolitan State Hospital in Los Angeles County on Feb. 1. He was in the process of being transferred to the facility after being declared incompetent to stand trail for twice breaking into a home in August. Autopsy results are pending toxicology, according to TMZ. That incident was part of a string of post-nfl arrests. The son of former NFL running back Stanley Wilson Sr., Wilson Jr. played three seasons with the Lions.
PRO TENNIS: No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz 5 won his first match of the year Wednesday, beating Laslo Djere 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 at the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires. The U.S. Open champion, 19, missed the Australian Open with a leg injury and ceded the No. 1 ranking to Novak Djokovic.
