The city of Madison is no stranger to admiration and accolades due to its historical charm, grand antebellum homes, popular community festivals, ample arts and cultural museums, and unique array of downtown shops and restaurants.

One publication, The Travel, took notice and named Madison one of the most beautiful towns in America.

“Main Street Madison Georgia is ecstatic that our city was named third for one of the most beautiful towns in America!” said a release from the city after receiving the news.

The Travel described Madison as one of the most scenic places in all of America.

“Madison boasts beautifully oak-lined streets, some of the most ancient National Historic Districts, incredible restaurants, colorful shops, and many historic sites for history buffs to explore. The Southern charm in this town is second to none. There are numerous events and festivals held across its town square throughout the year,” said the piece. “The town also hosts an amazing culture and artwork. The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center is a perfect place to take in some local history and get entertained by the many performances offered throughout the year.”

Madison leaders attribute the success of the city as a travel destination to the dedicated citizens who work to maintain the city’s beauty, community life and historical integrity.

“This constant citizen input helps the city’s elected officials to maintain, preserve, and build that which all of Madison’s residents prize — a vibrant, viable, and safe community in which to live, work, and raise their families,” said a statement from the city of Madison.
