No. 3 Purdue, Edey roll past Ohio St. 82-55

Zach Edey had 26 points and 11 rebounds for his 21st double-double this season to lead No. 3 Purdue past Ohio State 82-55 on Sunday in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Trey Kaufman-renn scored 11 points and David Jenkins Jr. added nine points for the Boilermake­rs (24-4, 13-4 Big Ten). Mason Gillis contribute­d seven points and 10 rebounds for Purdue, which had a 44-21 rebounding edge.

Brice Sensabaugh led the Buckeyes (11-16, 3-13) with 20 points.

North Carolina 69: Jarkel Joiner took over during a critical second-half stretch, matching his season high with 29 points to lead the Wolfpack past the rival Tar Heels.

Joiner had 20 of his points after the break for the Wolfpack (21-7, 11-6 ACC). D J Burns Jr. added 14 of his 18 points after halftime for N.C. State, which shot 64.5% in the second half and avenged last month’s loss on the road.

Caleb Love scored 20 points to lead the Tar Heels (16-11, 8-8), who continued a February crash that has put their NCAA Tournament chances in growing jeopardy. UNC lost for the fifth time in six games this month after shooting just 35.5%, a performanc­e that a dominating rebounding effort (4834) couldn’t offset.

Women’s Top 25 (At) No. 24 Florida St. 80,

Georgia Tech 66: Ta’niya Latson scored 31 points, leading the Seminoles (22-7, 11-5 ACC) over the Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech got within four points early in the fourth quarter, but the Seminoles responded with an 8-0 run that gave them a 73-61 lead with 4:11 remaining. Florida State added 3-pointers from Latson and Erin Howard to close out the victory.

Cameron Swartz scored 17 points, Kara Dunn 16, and Kayla Blackshear 10 for Georgia Tech (13-13, 4-11).

(At) No. 2 Indiana 83, Purdue 60: Mackenzie Holmes scored 20 points, Grace Berger added 14 points and 10 assists and the Hoosiers clinched a share of their first Big Ten regular-season title in 40 years.

The Hoosiers (26-1, 16-1 Big Ten) won their 14th straight, matching the second-longest winning streak in school history, before cutting down the nets in front of the program’s first home sellout.

Lasha Petree led Purdue with 23 points. The Boilermake­rs (17-8, 8-7) have lost nine straight in this rivalry.

No. 4 Utah 74, (at) Arizona St. 69: Gianna Kneepkens scored 22 points and Jenna Johnson added 15 to push the Utes (23-3, 13-3) to a Pac-12 victory over the Sun Devils (7-18, 0-16). The Utes struggled to put away Arizona State without Alissa Pili, the Pac-12’s leading scorer at 20.7 points per game, who did not play after an ankle sprain.

No. 5 LSU 90, (at) Florida

79: Angel Reese had 25 points and 16 rebounds and the Tigers (25-1, 13-1 SEC) raced past the Gators (14-13, 3-11).

No.9duke56,(at)virginia 52: The Blue Devils (22-4, 13-3 ACC) survived a stern test from Virginia (15-12, 4-12).

No. 10 Notre Dame 83, (at) Pittsburgh 43: The Fighting Irish (22-4, 13-3 ACC) went on an 18-3 burst over the final 6:47 of the opening frame to build a 16-point lead that the Panthers (10-17, 3-13) never really threatened.
