1 Tiktok sets limits for minors:

Tiktok says every account held by a user under the age of 18 will have a default 60-minute daily screen time limit in the coming weeks. Families have struggled with limiting the amount of time their children spend on the Chineseown­ed video sharing app. When the 60-minute limit is reached, minors will be prompted to enter a passcode and make an“active decision”to keep watching.

Kotb off‘today’show due to 2 family health issue:

NBC says “Today”host Hoda Kotb has been absent from the show due to a family health matter. Kotb’s cohost, Savannah Guthrie, tested positive for COVID-19 and left the set Tuesday. News anchor Craig Melvin said the show looked forward to their return“very, very soon.”

3 West Virginia governor signs campus carry gun bill:

West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice signed a bill Wednesday allowing people with concealed carry permits to take firearms onto public college and university campuses. The law will take effect in July 2024. The signing comes two weeks after a gunman shot and killed three students at Michigan State University.

4 NYC to pay millions over police ‘kettling’ at Floyd protest:

New York City has agreed to pay several million dollars to settle a lawsuit brought by protesters who say they were assaulted, abused and trapped by police using a technique known as “kettling” at a demonstrat­ion in the wake of George Floyd’s killing.

5 D.C.’S cherry blossoms coming early:

The cherry trees in the nation’s capital are confused by Earth’s changing climate, with the iconic blossoms appearing earlier than expected because of the unusually warm winter. Officials said Washington’s 3,700 cherry blossom trees would reach peak bloom this year from March 22-25. That’s several days earlier than expected.
