PRO SOCCER: CBS Sports will expand its soccer offerings next month when it launches a free digital channel devoted to the sport. THE“CBS Sports Goalazo Network”will be anchored by a morning news show and will carry matches, highlights and magazine shows. The channel will stream on CBS Sports digital platforms as well as Paramount+ and Pluto TV.

Supporters of legalizing sports wagering in Kentucky won approval from a House panel in their latest quest to regulate and tax the activity. The measure won strong bipartisan support in sailing through the House Licensing, Occupations and Administrative Regulations Committee.
PRO BASEBALL: A coalition of

Wisconsin business, tourism and health care leaders, former office holders and others announced it is working to find a bipartisan solution to keeping the Milwaukee Brewers in the state. The Home Crew Coalition teamed up behind Gov. Tony Evers’ proposal to spend nearly $300 million on repairs to American Family Field. In exchange, the baseball team said it would extend its lease at the stadium by 13 years, through 2043.

COLLEGE BASKETBALL: Allen Fieldhouse, the home of defending national champion Kansas, will undergo a significant renovation to upgrade amenities, hospitality spaces and premium seating options. Jayhawks Athletic Director Travis Goff said the multimillion dollar project, to be funded by private donations, will included state-of-the-art videoboards, a new sound system and lighting.

Gold Cup, a women’s edition of the long-running men’s tournament, will be played in the United States early next year. The governing body for soccer in North and Central America and the Caribbean announced that qualification for teams that have not already earned berths will start in September.
