1 PRO BASEBALL: The Miami Marlins have reinstated infielder Joey Wendle from the 10-day injured list and optioned infielder Xavier Edwards to Triple-a Jacksonvil­le. Wendle had been sidelined by a strained right intercosta­l muscle. He was placed on the IL on April 4. Edwards made his big league debut Tuesday against Atlanta. He went 1 for 6 and scored a run in three games with Miami.

2 PRO SOCCER: Crystal Palace has promised to issue a club ban to a spectator who is alleged to have racially abused Tottenham forward Son Heung-min during a Premier League match between the teams. Footage has circulated of a man in the away end at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium making what appears to be a racist gesture toward Son on Saturday in the 89th minute of Tottenham’s 1-0 win.

3 JUDO: Russians have returned to internatio­nal judo competitio­n for the first time in nearly a year at the world championsh­ips as Ukraine stayed away in protest. The Russians were competing under the name of “Individual Neutral Athletes” at the key Olympic qualifying competitio­n in Qatar. Seventeen judokas from Russia and two from its ally Belarus were listed as competing at the world championsh­ips despite several of them having apparent ties with the Russian military.

4 COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Ido David had a season-high 23 kills to help top-seeded UCLA beat twotime defending national champion Hawaii 28-26, 31-33, 25-21, 25-21 to win the 20th NCAA men’s volleyball championsh­ip in program history. Alex Knight tied his career highs with 15 kills and 18.5 points for UCLA.

5 ULTIMATE FIGHTING: Police in Los Angeles arrested UFC veteran Tony Ferguson on Sunday morning for suspicion of drunken driving after he allegedly crashed his truck into parked cars.
