1 PRO BASEBALL: Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Yandy Díaz left the series finale Sunday against the New York Yankees with left groin tightness after the first inning. Díaz extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a leadoff double and took third on a groundout by Wander Franco. As he advanced, Díaz slipped running past the bag but stayed in and scored on a Brandon Lowe groundout. After the Rays batted, Díaz was replaced by Issac Paredes.

White Sox have reinstated infielder Jake Burger from the 10-day injured list. Burger was starting at designated hitter and hitting seventh for the White Sox against the Houston Astros. He is hitting .224 with seven home runs and 14 RBIS in 23 games this season.

White Sox reinstated infielder Jake Burger from the 10-day injured list on Sunday. Burger played in two rehab games with Triple-a Charlotte after he went on the injured list May 4 for a strained left oblique. He is hitting .224 with seven home runs and 14 RBIS in 23 games this season.

Copper had 18 points and nine rebounds, and the Chicago Sky beat the Minnesota Lynx 82-74 in a preseason game on Saturday in the WNBA’S first visit to Canada. Kayana Traylor scored 13 points for Chicago. Bridget Carleton, an Ontario native, had three points and two rebounds in 12 minutes for the Lynx. She received standing ovations when starting lineups were announced and in speaking to the sold-out Scotiabank Arena crowd before the game.

HORSE RACING: A 3-year-old

5 colt co-owned by UCLA football coach Chip Kelly and basketball coach Mick Cronin finished third in the $200,000 Peter Pan Stakes on Saturday. Ridden by Frankie Dettori, Henry Q was beaten by 8 3/4 lengths in the 1 1/8-mile race, which is a prep for the Belmont Stakes.
