1 COLLEGE BASEBALL: Longtime Coastal Carolina baseball coach Gary Gilmore said he’ll retire after the 2024 season and expects to hand the program off to 20-year assistant Kevin Schnall. Gilmore led the Chanticlee­rs to the 2016 College World Series title. He’s been treated for pancreatic cancer since 2020 but says the disease is manageable and he feels strong enough to continue coaching through next season. Coastal Carolina is seeded 10th in the NCAA Tournament and will host a four-time regional starting Friday.

2 COLLEGE FOOTBALL: Bill Mcgovern, who was an assistant coach for 39 years in the college ranks and in the NFL, has died. He was 60. UCLA announced Mcgovern died on Tuesday due to cancer. Mcgovern was the Bruins’ defensive coordinato­r last year but missed most of the second half of the season due to health issues. He remained on staff as director of football administra­tion. Mcgovern also had a successful playing career at Holy Cross.

3 COLLEGE GOLF: Fred Biondi shot a 3-under 67 and rallied from a five-shot deficit in the final round to earn Florida’s third individual men’s NCAA golf championsh­ip. Biondi shot 2-under 35 on the front nine at Grayhawk Golf Club and was three back after a bogey on No. 12. The senior from Brazil birdied the par-4 14th and closed with four straight pars.

4 PRO SOCCER: Authoritie­s are asking the public to share any video or informatio­n as they investigat­e a weekend shooting that left eight teens wounded outside a stadium near Philadelph­ia. Police in Chester said gunfire erupted shortly before 11:30 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot outside Subaru Park, the sports venue where the Philadelph­ia Union play. Authoritie­s say one of the teens remains hospitaliz­ed in critical condition. The shooting occurred hours after the Union’s affiliate team, Union II, had played against Crew II at the stadium.

5 SOCCER: A 15-year-old soccer player has been hospitaliz­ed with life-threatenin­g brain injuries after being struck by an opposing player in a post-match fight during an internatio­nal youth tournament in Germany. A 16-year-old from a French team was jailed pending further investigat­ion by a judge in Frankfurt, where the match with a team from Berlin took place on Sunday. Frankfurt police said in a statement Tuesday that a scuffle broke out between players after the final whistle and escalated into punches being thrown.
