123 4 5 Driver crashes into Biden’s motorcade:

A man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after crashing his car into a Secret Service SUV that was blocking a Wilmington, Del., intersecti­on for President Biden’s motorcade on Sunday night. The driver, James Cooper, a 46-year-old Wilmington man, was also charged with inattentiv­e driving, police said. Neither the president nor the first lady — who were visiting Biden’s campaign headquarte­rs in Wilmington — were harmed in the incident.

Suspected cyberattac­k hits gas stations in Iran:

Nearly 70% of Iran’s gas stations went out of service following possible sabotage — a reference to cyberattac­ks, Iranian state TV reported. The report said a “software problem” caused the irregulari­ty in the gas stations. It urged people not to rush to the stations that were still operationa­l. Iran, long sanctioned by the West, faces difficulti­es in getting up-to-date hardware and software, often relying on older systems no longer being patched by manufactur­ers. That would make it easier for a potential hacker to target.

Egypt’s president elected to third term:

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-sissi, who has ruled with an unquestion­ed grip for the past nine years, won reelection to a third, six-year term in office, election authoritie­s announced. He ran against three virtually unknown opponents. El-sissi recorded a landslide victory, securing 89.6% of the vote, the National Election Authority said. Turnout was 66.8% of more than 67 million registered voters.

Serbia’s opposition claims election fraud:

Serbia’s weekend snap election was held in “unjust conditions,” with multiple reports of irregulari­ties, internatio­nal observers said, as opponents of populist President Aleksandar Vucic took to the streets claiming the vote was rigged. Political tensions spiked in the Balkan country over the parliament­ary and local elections on Sunday.

Youtube mom pleads guilty in child abuse case:

A Utah mother of six who gave parenting advice via a once-popular Youtube channel called “8 Passengers” pleaded guilty to four felony counts of seconddegr­ee aggravated child abuse for abusing and starving two of her children. Ruby Franke is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 20; each charge carries a sentence of one to 15 years in prison.
