‘HOW TO HAVE SEX’

B Three teen girls go to Greece after taking college entry exams, and they have a plan to celebrate by drinking and having sex. The direction and performances are so spontaneous and naturalistic that the film often plays like a slice-of-life documentary. Starring Mia McKennaBruce, Samuel Bottomley and Lara Peake. Directed by Molly Manning Walker. (Ann Hornaday, Washington Post) Unrated. At Regal Atlantic Station. 1 hour, 38 minutes.

‘LISA FRANKENSTEIN’

B An outcast girl leaves trinkets on the grave of a handsome young dead guy who then comes back to life and together, they have to engage in murder to acquire his missing parts. While the script fumbles in places, there’s enough verve in the concept and performances to carry the film. Starring Kathryn Newton, Cole Sprouse and Carla Gugino. Directed by Zelda Williams. (Katie Walsh, Tribune News Service) Rated PG-13 for violent content, sexual assault, language, bloody images, sexual material, teen drinking and drug content. At metro theaters. 1 hour, 41 minutes. PARENTS GUIDE: This is bloody and too mature for kids (drinking, drugs, violence, sex). Fine for teens.

‘THE MONK AND THE GUN’

B+ During Bhutan’s mock elections, an elderly lama instructs his young monk attendant to bring him back two guns so he can“set things right.” It’s a sharp commentary on the contemporary world. Starring Harry Einhorn, Tandin Wangchuk, Deki Lhamo. Directed by Pawo Choyning Dorji. (Michael O’Sullivan, Washington Post) Rated PG-13 for some nude sculptures and smoking. At AMC Colonial 18, AMC Conyers Crossing and AMC Southlake. 1 hour, 47 minutes.

‘SOMETIMES I THINK ABOUT DYING’

B A reclusive oddball befriends and ultimately dates the new guy in the office, but an air of mystery surrounds her. The film delivers its story — short, black and sweet — with a reserve that is made up for by a genuinely affecting tenderness for its flawed yet searching characters. Starring Daisy Ridley, Dave Merheje and Parvesh Cheena. Directed by Rachel Lambert. (Michael O’Sullivan, Washington Post) Rated R for brief drug material, thematic material and some language. At AMC Phipps Plaza and AMC Southlake. 1 hour, 31 minutes.

‘THE TEACHERS’ LOUNGE’

B Some thefts in a new teacher’s classroom and an accusation cause her to make it her mission to get to the bottom of it. It’s far more than a conventional whodunit, though it does build a nice head of suspense as it grapples with themes of justice, doubt and bias. Starring Leonie Benesch, Leonard Stettnisch and Eva Lobau. Directed by Ilker Catak. In German, Polish, Turkish and English with subtitles.
