Suwanee eatery fails with multiple violations

Fukulala Sushi, an Asian fusion restaurant in Suwanee, failed a routine health inspection with multiple critical violations.

The same flour and panko breading were used for fish and chicken, risking cross-contamination of bacteria. The products were discarded, and new containers were made and labeled for each raw food item.

Fukulala Sushi, 1039 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., scored 55/U, down from 91/A. The restaurant last had a failing score of 54/U in December. It will be re-inspected.

Ramen soup made the night before was still above the safe temperature range. It had been improperly cooled inside deep, closed containers and stacked in the walk-in cooler. The soup was discarded.

Frozen crab legs and shrimp were in the vegetable sink to thaw without running water.

An employee handled dirty dishes and returned to preparing food without changing gloves.
