1 COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL:

Tennessee fired Kellie Harper after five seasons as head coach. Harper finishes her tenure at her alma mater with a 10852 record, including 53-24 in SEC play. She is one of only two coaches to take four different programs to the NCAA Tournament. But that’s not the standard at Tennessee, where she helped win three straight national titles herself under the late Pat Summitt. Tennessee hasn’t won a national title since 2008 with Summitt. The Lady Vols have not reached a Final Four since then.

2 COLLEGE MEN’S BASKETBALL:

Andy Enfield will lead SMU into the Atlantic Coast Conference after being named coach of the Mustangs on Monday. Enfield was at USC the past 11 seasons after taking No. 15 seed Florida Gulf Coast to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2013. SMU hasn’t been to the NCAA Tournament since 2017, which was only its third appearance since last winning a tourney game in 1988.

3 PRO BASEBALL:

Four teams remained undefeated after their opening series — and all four did it on the road. The Yankees took four at Houston, Detroit swept a three-game set in Chicago vs. the White Sox, Milwaukee went to New York and beat the Mets three times, and Pittsburgh won four straight at Miami. Three of those teams will stay on the road, with Milwaukee coming back for its home opener today against Minnesota.

4 OLYMPICS:

The U.S. Center for SafeSport announced 10 changes to the way it operates in a move it says is designed to increase efficiency and“trauma sensitivity,”while addressing complaints that have come from both victims and the accused. The overhaul came after what the center said was an eight-month review of a process that has been criticized by Congress, Olympic athletes and even families whose kids play grassroots sports. Some of the changes address issues raised in a series of Associated Press stories that detailed drawnout cases in which both victims and the accused often felt unsure of the SafeSport process.
