1 Teen accidental­ly kills younger brother with gun from alley:

A 14-year-old Florida boy told police he accidental­ly shot and killed his 11-yearold brother after finding a gun in an alley near their home. St. Petersburg police Friday found Amir Williams suffering from a gunshot wound. The boy died at the scene. Students had the day off from school Friday, and Amir was home with his older brother and 13-year-old sister, police said. The children’s mother wasn’t home. Amir’s brother told investigat­ors he found the gun and that no one else in the family knew he had it. Police had not determined if any criminal charges would be filed.

2 Six shot outside club:

Six people were shot late Friday outside a nightclub in the nation’s capital, police said. The shootings happened around 11:30 p.m. in the Dupont Circle neighborho­od of Washington. Metropolit­an Police said officers were called after a dispute started inside the nightclub and spilled into the street. The six people who were shot had non-lifethreat­ening injuries, police said. Police arrested a suspect nearby and recovered a firearm, Kyle said. Police did not immediatel­y provide additional details.

3 News anchor Poppy Harlow announces departure from CNN:

Anchor Poppy Harlow is leaving CNN. The network said Harlow announced her parting from the cable news giant in an email to colleagues. Harlow joined CNN in 2008 and most recently co-hosted “CNN This Morning.” CNN said it had engaged in discussion­s with Harlow after she was left without an anchor slot when “CNN This Morning” changed time slots and moved to Washington. Harlow previously worked as an anchor for the Forbes Video Network.

4 Paramedic avoids prison:

A Colorado judge has sentenced a former paramedic to a jail work release program and probation in the death of Elijah McClain. Jeremy Cooper faced up to three years in prison for administer­ing a dose of the sedative ketamine to McClain, a 23-year-old Black man who had been stopped by police while walking in 2019. Cooper was sentenced to four years of probation and 14 months in the jail work release program.
