Score drops at Uncle C’s BBQ in Acworth

During a routine health inspection at Uncle C’s BBQ in Acworth, the Brunswick stew, brisket and ribs were not held within the temperature range for safety.

None of the items was on a heating source and had to be reheated to the proper temperatures to prevent bacteria growth.

Among other violations, dishes in the three-compartment sink were not sanitized after washing. And clean utensils were stored in a dirty container.

Cutting boards were heavily stained. Food was stored on the floor in the kitchen and the walk-in cooler, and single-service items were on the floor in the dining area.

The restaurant did not have chlorine test strips to measure sanitizer concentration, so the cleaning buckets held dirty water without a measurable amount of sanitizer.

The inspector said the microwave had a heavy buildup of debris, and the entire kitchen and outdoor grill pit needed cleaning and repairs.
