Hapeville’s Red Snapper fails health inspection

Unsafe temperatures, uncovered food were among violations.

Red Snapper Fish & Chicken in Hapeville failed a routine health inspection with uncovered foods and unsafe temperatures.

Raw chicken wings and seasonings were uncovered and exposed to contaminants inside a reach-in cooler.

The cheesecake and banana pudding were above 41 degrees in a display cooler, so they were discarded. Cooked and raw chicken wings, along with blue cheese dressing, coleslaw, and tartar sauce, were also at unsafe temperatures.

Among other violations, the cutting boards were heavily stained, sauce bottles had debris buildup around the tops, and seasoning containers also had buildup.

Containers of sugar and seasonings for the fish and chicken were unlabeled. Two boxes of food were on the floor in the walk-in freezer. A bucket was in one of the hand sinks. An employee’s phone and drink were in the food prep area.
